Can Dr Who get any better, I have always like the show and no its not because it a Sci-Fi thing, I just like the ccaricatures and story lines, there is room in the show for a bit of different thinking.
Anyway I came across the episode – A GIRL IN THE FIRE PLACE – how cool, they mixed time travel with 18th centuary France, beautiful ladie and stunning gowns. Actress - Sophia Myles plays the part of Madame de Pompadour and she is so beautiful.

This is my little tribute to two gals I think are great – Ellen & Portia.
I am not into celebrities much, I think they are over-paid show-offs who do nothing real but expect notoriety for it, but I just like these 2 because I think they are just NICE, well it seems that way.
After seeing the video below about the preparations & wedding and seeing them with family etc it just re-enforced my belief they are nice people.

I was checking out the latest (W 2009) designer Catwalk shows and saw the Chanel Fall 2009 collection.
Just wanted to post the ones I would so love to have and so many nice Dresses & Suits, nice to see some of the classic Chanel style coming back.
Its was so nice to see a collection that has some feminie style about it as so many of the latest releases from other famous designers collections are so boring or just plain ugly.

I saw this fashion spread the other day and just loved it; talk about a living doll, so who needs a plastic doll anymore when the real thing is much nicer.
I don’t know who the model is and I guess there has been a bit of after photo retouching, but regardless of that she is simply stunning. She has beautiful big eyes and a great slim figure to die for.
I like the way they have done the shoot to, very cute – chic – young fashions. I also love the hair styles and makeup they have done.
Sorry plastic Barbie you are redundant …LoL…

I am so looking forward to seeing this movie because as in my journal you will see I am such a fan of the Victorian Era Fashion, well at least the modern reproductions of the fashion.
This latest upcoming movie, "The Young Victoria" chronicles Victoria's early rise to power, focusing on the romantic courtship and her legendary marriage to Prince Albert. The film begins in 1836, the year before Victoria ascended the throne, and ends in 1840. It will also take away the later image of her as the over-weight woman always dressed in black.
Anyway regardless of how good or bad the movie ends up being, by the still pictured below I don’t care that much, it just means I will get more time to focus on the fashions. I know that may sound a bit shallow but when it comes to Victorian Fashions I don’t care and anyway when has a movie ever be fully truthful to actual history anyway.

Well its off to the ballet again, the West Australian Ballet are doing Giselle.
It’s being performed at the beautiful old His Majesty's Theatre, such a great venue with has such a perfect atmosphere for ballet.
Being a member of the ballet is so great as you get advanced notice of performances and I managed to get Class A seats in the Dress Circle, so cool. What is even cooler is that after the performance I get to go back-stage and have drinks with the performers etc , just one of the great perks of being a member.

Just thought I would post an entry regarding one of my many travels to the UK.
This trip was in early 2008 and I met up with friends for some fun nights out. WE had some totally fab nights out at the BNO (Big Night Out) that is held just north of London every second Saturday night & The Magic Ball Act1.
The BNO is held in an old building on the edge of a small town and is 3 floors of different moods, also with a nice outside area with a huge log fire, great for those cold English winter nights. It’s a great place to just catch up and have a fun, friendly night out.
The Magic Ball was held in South London at a very Art Deco type building and with all the class of the 1940s. It was so great that everyone come dressed in their finest outfits. There was no true theme to the night just as long as it was classy. Some of the outfits and costumes were to die for.
It was also so great to meet up with some good friends I had not seen for some time, living in Ozy Land one dose not get much of a chance to go out with good friends of our gender. I am so looking forward to my next trip back there in mid/late 2009.
( A few photos of friends below – taken a both events )

ENJOY .... LoL ....
I still have to figure out exactly what type – style and colour of materials I am going to use on them, but it’s going to be fun choosing them.
I just totally re vamped my sewing room so there is now a good work area for cutting and sewing, also got a new overlocker and it’s a flash one, has many more bells and whistles than my old one.
The new patterns I ended up getting are: (Only hope I can do them justice, as I will try to keep them as authentic as possible.
